In his professional career, Singer/Songwriter Scotch Ellis Loring, has always been a part of the music business. His voice can be heard covering a wide variety of genres spanning television, stage & film. He has performed with Larry Gatlin, BeBe Winans, Carl Anderson and Dennis DeYoung, Freda Payne & Syreeta Wright, to name a few. Scotch has worked with Ray Davies of the Kinks, Larry Hart, Charles Fox, and the amazing team of Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. As a songwriter, Scotch severed as principle lyricist to the alternative band Manchild, which he also fronted. He has written songs for several indie artists (including “You Are My Dream” for the self titled debut CD “Zu”) but has spent his time writing for himself. Currently the song ‘Naughty Body’ can be heard on the ABC comedy series “Miss Guided”. The song “Lost Til I Found You” plays over the closing credits of New Regency’s “Firehouse Dog”. “Standard Scotch” is the well-received collection of classic songs recorded by this artist. His latest CD is titled “Original Scotch”, where he served as the project’s writer, vocalist and producer. “This project really came to life when I collaborated with Bal. Working with him solidified a long creative bond that will endure for some time to come. These songs are as personal as I have ever been with my writing. I didn’t want to leave anything in the shadows. I have songs here that celebrate life and also life lost. I cover faith and fear and love and sex, everything. I am proud of this effort and I hope you find some joy here.” Scotch is currently working with producing partner Bal on several projects and lives in marital bliss in the hills of Hollywood and thrives in SELSOUND, his home studio.
